Who I am
About Me
Be Kind. Be Authentic. Be Humble. Be Honest.
Faith. Character. Relationships.
I’m Sean Brannan, a follower of Jesus, a disabled combat veteran, and the proud dad of a United States Marine.
My faith sits at the center of my life, not an addition to it. I haven’t mastered that; most days it looks like relearning how to walk humbly with God. Micah 6:8 became my life verse because it names that process honestly, and the longer I stay close to Him, the clearer His calling and purpose for me become.
I write about what it looks like to follow Jesus, wrestle with fear and trust, and actually live out what I believe, because that’s what shapes how we show up in every relationship we have. I integrate psychology and theology to help us do what Scripture calls repentance: surrender old ways of thinking, accept our identity as a child of God, and walk humbly with Him.
I’m still figuring this out in real time, and A Life’s Adventure is where I invite you to walk it alongside me.
Why I Write
The questions beneath the surface
I know what it feels like to be unseen, unheard, or misunderstood. I’ve wrestled with self-doubt and the fears of rejection, abandonment, and betrayal. Those struggles have shaped the questions I ask about faith, identity, and connection.
They’ve also made me care deeply about what happens beneath the surface. Why do we pull away when we want connection? What makes honesty so difficult? How does fear influence our decisions? What does trusting God look like when we’re hurting and can’t see a way forward?
These are questions I bring to my writing and to my own life. I believe the gospel of Jesus Christ offers real hope, and I want to understand how that hope takes root in our choices, habits, and relationships.
For me, that means being willing to examine my own heart, take responsibility, and put what I’m learning into practice.
Faith In Everyday Life
Where growth becomes visible
Following Jesus reaches into every part of life: how we handle disappointment, respond to correction, keep our word, and care for someone when a conversation gets difficult.
I’m interested in the kind of growth that becomes visible there: the courage it takes to tell the truth, the humility to apologize, the patience to actually listen, and the willingness to recognize a pattern in yourself and start changing it.
That’s the heart of A Life’s Adventure: growing in character, building healthier relationships, and learning to live the life God is calling us into. It takes honesty, grace, and a willingness to keep showing up.
What You'll Find here
A few threads I keep returning to
Through my books, articles, Scripture reflections, and practical resources, I explore:
- Faith & Surrender — Learning to trust God and respond to His direction amid uncertainty.
- Character and identity — Examining what shapes us and bringing our actions into alignment with what we believe.
- Healing and relationships — Understanding fear, wounds, and patterns, and practicing healthier ways to connect.
- Purpose and everyday courage — Taking meaningful steps toward a life lived with faith and intention.
I draw on Scripture, lived experience, and ideas that help us understand ourselves and our relationships. My aim is to give you something you can reflect on, wrestle with, and apply in your own life.
My core values
Values are the compass
Micah 6:8 has been my life verse for years: “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.” Everything below grows out of that one verse: justice shows up as integrity, kindness as relationship, humility as wisdom. Values are the compass that guide our lives, and these are mine:
- Faith — Trusting God in every season.
- Integrity — Saying what I mean, doing what I say.
- Courage — Facing adversity with resolve.
- Authenticity — Sharing real, not polished.
- Relationship — Leading with empathy and emotional connection.
- Growth — Lifelong learning and transformation.
- Adventure — Exploring life, God, and self.
- Wisdom — Applying truth with discernment.
I believe that when our values align with our actions, we find fulfillment, and when our values align with those we love, we build stronger, healthier relationships.
The Adventure Along the Way
Making room for joy
There’s also room here for the things that bring joy: travel, hiking, exploring God’s creation, and baseball. I value opportunities to learn, experience somewhere new, and appreciate the life unfolding around me.
Adventure is part of how I want to live: with curiosity, purpose, and a willingness to embrace challenges. That includes making room for beauty and enjoying the journey along the way.

One email a week: the Anchored Newsletter
If you’re working through questions of faith, recognizing patterns you want to change, or learning to build healthier relationships, I hope you’ll find something here to help you take your next step.
The best way to walk this out together is the Anchored Newsletter, my weekly newsletter. I’ll share honestly about what I’m learning, including the places where I’m still being challenged. My hope is that these conversations help us grow in faith, take responsibility for how we live, and love the people around us well.
We are a community of believers tasked with building each other up, and I welcome feedback, questions, and honest pushback. Tell me what resonates, and tell me what doesn’t. I’d rather this be a two-way conversation than something I just send out into the world.
You’re welcome here.
